Read this outlandish story he posted today on Coach's Facebook page. You might feel sorry for him and be inclined to believe him. However, we call bullshit on this story once again. Like many of his lies, it may have been grounded in a real incident. He probably was at the Coach store and the employee asked him to have his son stop fogging up mirrors. But the idea that an employee at such a high-end store would ask one of their customers not to bring their mentally disabled child to the store is literally unbelievable. We don't have any proof that it didn't happen, but he also has no proof it did happen. And he's a proven pathological liar.
What he wants is for people to feel sorry for him and he will stop at nothing to get attention, even preying on people's sympathy for parents struggling with autistic children. What about feeling sorry for Frischling's most recent landlord, whose home he trashed after not paying rent for six months, and will now have to spend her own money to take him to court for the damage?

Then he used his social media skillz to go after @Coach on Twitter.
Boohoo. He's probably scheming to get free Coach merchandise out of this.
Boohoo. He's probably scheming to get free Coach merchandise out of this.
Fish the constant victim will be back in court soon. Friday the 13th is coming up!
Gift? Christmas and Hanukkah were last week Fish.
ReplyDeleteAlso, where did he get the money to shop at coach?
This is the first I'm reading about his son being autistic (which I would completely empathize with, if true.) You'd have thought that he would have repeated this early and often.
ReplyDeleteHaving witnessed Steven's parenting "skills", I don't believe he was doing a thing to try to control his son.
ReplyDeleteI normally sympathize with parents of autistic children but I do not feel an ounce of sympathy for him.
I called the Mohegan Coach store and gave them a heads up. The employee was shocked and wanted info about Frischling. I said he was probably trying to get free stuff out of them and she said they don't do that! Hah! Nice try.
ReplyDelete12:32 the timing is odd. Why is he buying a gift now? Shouldn't he be paying his rent? Oh yeah - his new landlord is sick with cancer and can't do a thing to get him kicked out anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteFish is pathetic.
ReplyDeleteWhy is he analyzing Coach's Twitter usage? What point is he trying to make? Is he trying to make them nervous by peering into their SM traffic?
ReplyDelete"Well if @Coach only engages influencers only ... their @Klout score is a 59 and mine is a 60 ... maybe they will pay attention ... or not"
Well, he got the or not part right.

Pssst...Steve-O. We know you have mucho experience with "irrational" but are any of the companies you are "often defending" actually paying you?
you know what is fishy about this story is that he is allegedly buying a gift for his wife/girlfriend/significant other and if you read her bio on her facebook/myspace page she loves vintage stuff. I don't think coach is really her style.
ReplyDeleteFish, do you get off on humiliating your family on the internet? You must.
ReplyDeleteLetting a four year old loose (special needs or otherwise) to trash up a luxury good store is just not right. Even as a customer, I'd not be happy about Fish's spawn running free in the store. Get real man.
ReplyDeleteyou know what is fishy about this story is that he is allegedly buying a gift for his wife/girlfriend/significant other and if you read her bio on her facebook/myspace page she loves vintage stuff. I don't think coach is really her style.
ReplyDelete--------------------------------------
Let's be honest, style is something no one in that house has.
Best wishes for the New Year to all FishFraud fans.
ReplyDeleteFrom the blog of Steven Frischling (here's yout twiiter connect @flyingwithfish )
ReplyDelete"So here I am, staring at the year in review in one folder and notes for 17 stories I already know I hope to find the time to write in January 2012. Why look back when we can look forward?"
Yes, let's look forward to the disposition of the felony case against you.
Good luck with that!
With the felony case potentially coming to a resolution, this could be a watershed year. However, if Frisching is in jail I'm afraid of the loss of regular FishFraud content. It will be a bittersweet event.
ReplyDelete12:03. Yeah, but just think about the endless jailhouse stories Frischling will be sharing when he's released. Then there's probation, which could provide some good stuff, too.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to need to find out who his cellmate is and someone is going to have to communicate with that person via telephone once a week to get the scoop. He'll WAY exaggerate his lies to a bunch of fellow inmates who don't have internet access and then we'll fill them in on the truth.
ReplyDeleteHe'll be the laughing stock of the rec yard in no time.
And even if we cannot get the inside scoop from an inmate or prison guard, well there's always Andrew. Andrew will provide entertainment.
I wonder if you can tweet from prison. I can just imagine those post- dropping the soap in the shower tweets.
ReplyDeleteI do think that the case will end up with house arrest, so he'll continue to tweet all day without any issues and keep telling us about all the amazing international trips he'll take despite the bigass ankle bracelet.

Uh Steven, have you thought about the post-conviction life you will lead? Out-of-state travel might not be in your future given the bounds of reporting requirements for convicted felons on probation. Tough to be a "travel strategist" or "consultant" if you can't travel freely of your own accord. How will you explain these new restrictions to the "companies [you] defend from irrational passengers"? Hope this doesn't interrupt your income stream.

ReplyDelete^ Updates? You're being very generous. He hasn't said anything new since his first post.
ReplyDeleteAll he needs to do is visit FishFraud to lay out his life in the last year
ReplyDelete"Looking back on a year it is easy to forget things, easy to discover some forgotten gems as you review your year laid out in front of you both in a blog archive and in files of notes with stories written and those not written. It is easy to get bogged down second guessing why you wrote one post over another and why you never found the time to finish certain posts … but ultimately what was written is published and what was left by the curb may stay there or find its way into future posts."
http://boardingarea.com/blogs/flyingwithfish/2011/12/31/the_end_is_near/
What the f--- does any of that even mean? I mean, really Steven, shut the hell up already.
ReplyDeleteI said it before and I will say it again. Fish made comments about doing work with Iran Air months ago. When he goes to jail, he will probably pretend he is in Tehran and can't tweet. But the truth will be that he is getting rammed up the ass at county.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention that dealing with Iran Air would also be illegal under US law (without a license from the Treasury Department)...
ReplyDeleteReally Fish, how stupid do you think we are?

I'm surprised too that Frischling has an Autistic child. He would have for sure mentioned, and exploited him before.
ReplyDeleteIt's news to me also.... I has to be the 3rd child who's in preschool (I didn't think they labeled children with autism that young). The middle one is not I know for fact.
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing is that most of our reactions were the same - if it's true, then we're surprised because he hadn't mentioned it before (and naturally, exploited it.) You'd think that the idea of having a special needs child would cause him to sober up and get his act in order but then again, we said that about the lawsuits and the two felony charges...
ReplyDeleteOn 12/24/11 he tweeted, "Question of the Evening from one of my kids at dinner - "How come #autistic kids aren't forced to go to bed early on #Christmas Eve?" Oy!!" No other mention of having an autistic child before this, which I agree is quite odd given Frischling's need to constantly be the center of attention.
ReplyDeleteWhy would he make his son's autism a public conversation?? He lashes out at Coach for basically saying his son is "different" than other children and shouldn't be in such a store, but then blasts it all over the Internet that he's autistic! I can understand telling others that he's autistic on, say, a Parents of Autistic Children support board, but on Twitter highlighting a condition like that, what is the reason??
ReplyDeleteHe definitely does have an autistic son. As to why he hasn't exploited it before, I couldn't tell you.
ReplyDeleteYou are all only giving him the attention he wants. I wish I had the time to post such things about someone I hardly knew. He has an autistic child, and by continuing to rant about it you are only exploiting him more. His children did nothing.
ReplyDeleteHis children absolutely did nothing. Exactly why this is such a pity. I see his kids at school functions and wish so badly there was something I could do to change their situation.
ReplyDeleteIf anything, his kids are the only ones I feel sorry about. They're not growing up with the best of fatherly role models.
ReplyDeleteWho is this Jennifer Cappella person who is defending Fish so vehemently on the Coach FB page?
ReplyDeleteShe's a family friend per a post on her FB page:
ReplyDelete"I will no longer shop COACH and neither will a lot of people that I know. You see a friend of the family went shopping in your store with his 4 year old autistic son. It wasn't his son that was the problem - it was the staff.
Having family and friends with children that are autistic, this is very upsetting.
This is what happened at the Mohegan Sun, CT, store."
Then, she quoted the rest of Frischling's original post, which I've snipped.
He claims to have a client. Perhaps we can use the stats to identify it?
ReplyDeleteTearing apart a client's Twitter account for December, when I started running it, against November where I only had hands on for a few days.
Total Tweets:
Nov 11 - 330
Dec 11 297
Total 'true' Mentions
Nov 11 - 0
Dec 11 - 101
Total 'true' Retweets
Nov 11- 16
Dec 11 - 31
Total 'true' Favourited Tweets
Nov 11 - 0
Dec 11 - 4
My real focus is engagement, so the metric I care most about is the 101 mentions, while tweeting 33 less times.
Previous month had zero 'true' Direct Message engagements, December had quite a few, including helping a number of travelers handle airline issues; helping an airline get lost bags to a pax; getting an airline CEO to start engaging … but I'm not releasing DM stats … but it was a good hard month. I know everyone thinks Twitter is easy … but it ain't :0)
Again I'll ask, "What in the hell does any of that mean?" Please grow up Steven.
ReplyDeleteOK, lets assume that he convinced some airline stupid enough to be come his "client". Chances are that if he is tweeting for them, he will also follow them on his own account. The list of the airlines follows (it was easy since he's such a big shot, he loves to have a high followers/following ratio).
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody have a twitter analytics tool? From this short list, check the airlines that have the same number of tweets in November and December and we can find the "client".

Seems like a lot of work just to determine what we already know: that Steven Frischling is a liar, a thief and a douche bag.
ReplyDeleteBut it sure would be nice to give another heads up to another "client", though I seriously doubt any such "client" exists.
"We are business managers, economic visionaries, aviation professionals, and entrepreneurs."
ReplyDeletehttp://socialflights.com/blog/2012/01/04/forgiving-is-not-forgetting/
"Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is a globe hopping airline emerging media consultant, one of our favorite bloggers, and a trusted advisor."
You can't be a "visionary" or a "professional" if you believe the mindless blather of Steven Frischling makes him a "trusted advisor".
He's been listed as a consultant at Social Flights for many months, I don't know how far back that goes (I believe it's already been referenced on FF some months ago). Nothing new actually. Is he just bringing this up because he doesn't have anything else to talk about?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't trust this guy to mow my lawn, let alone provide travel advice. He can't even formulate coherent sentences and can't spell, so who would hire him?
ReplyDeleteAll he does it keep digging deeper into that hole...
4:37. Re-tweet your ass off and you can earn enough "data points," issued by Klout, of course, to become as "influential" as Frischling. The wikipedia article on Klout is very interesting. Yes, Klout's a bunch of crap.
ReplyDelete"John Scalzi has described the principle behind Klout's operation as "socially evil" in its exploitation of its users' status anxiety.[10] Charles Stross has described the service as "the internet equivalent of herpes", saying that his analysis of Klout's terms and conditions reveals that the company's business model is "flat-out illegal" in the United Kingdom, where it conflicts with the Data Protection Act 1998. Stross "strongly advise(s)" his readers to delete their Klout accounts and opt out of Klout services"
ReplyDeleteBeing a highly qualified social media expert blogger having written about IDKA (I Don't Know Anything) since their very first day of existence, exploiting KLOUT data would surely give away just how much I don't know anything about being a social media expert.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, well before I realized what an asshat Frischling was, I had a travel question and emailed him through his Sports Shooter page. He responded that he was a little busy at the time but would get back to me. He never did.
ReplyDeleteYears later I called him out about giving bad information on the message boards. He said that he wouldn't talk about it on an open forum, but would be happy to discuss it privately through email. I emailed him and he never responded to me.
^6:28 good thing he was not shooting your wedding pictures
ReplyDelete6:28, Frischling was always telling people to email him if they wished to "further discuss" whatever it was he was wrong about. Whenever he would say that on sportsshooter, I always knew he had been called out or corrected.

Steven Frischling is such a #SM business contradiction. His main branding vehicle is supposedly his uncompensated blog. Yet he has not made a new post in the new year. He uses twitter to make excuses about his must basic business failure; the inability to update his blog in a consistent manner. If he were really engaged in research wouldn't he create reams of material from which he could easily fashion blog posts? Even if his research was client proprietary he would see trends that would allow for some big picture airline travel posts, no?
It's almost like a primer in how to fail at #SM and internet business promotion.
New SS Article. http://www.sportsshooter.com/news/2601
ReplyDeleteSome highlights:
* The things your write on message boards are forever.
* Not everybody who claims to be a travel strategist or social media expert really is one.
East Lyme school system DOES NOT HAVE A 1/2 DAY TODAY 1/06/12.
ReplyDeleteWas this post from today?
Ummmmm just looked at the school calendar and called schools. TODAY IS NOT A SHORTEND DAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteSTOP TRYING TO GET ATTENTION AND MAKE PEOPLE FEEL BAD FOR YOU AND YOUR PATHETIC LIFE!!!!!
You are truly a piece of work, using any angle to make people feel bad for poor Stevie because his kids are coming home early due to a fake shortend day. WOW!!!!
He's trying to impress everyone with how he can be a leading travel strategist and SM expert while raising 3 children almost singlehandedly - as if any woman who has kids and a job doesn't already do the same thing (and without needing to tweet about it ad infinitum).
ReplyDeleteSo if East Lyme doesn't have a short day, maybe he's planning on going into other districts and snatching some other kids to bring home and not take care of.
ReplyDeleteIs autism genetic? Could Stevie be afflicted with autism like his child? After his lying tweet about his kids having a half day at school (in rereading what he tweeted, I could see how maybe his youngest who is in preschool might be the only one coming home early), he spent hours tweeting nonsense and retweeting others with stupid comments. Even his most recent blog entry he was finally able to post is nothing. "Sometimes things get stolen from checked baggage by TSA agents." Yes, we know this. Please go on and enlighten us. "And to prevent this TSA agents need to be watched closer." Uh, OK genius, not too much of a stretch to figure that out. And it is filled with Frischling-isms such as "So … while theft-per-checked-bag statistics involving TSA TSOs are low …" while not providing one shred of data.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, maybe the fucker is autistic. Steve, not his child. We know his child is thanks to SF telling the world about it in order to gain sympathy. I, like many of you, feel very sad about the childrens' plight.
