Who do you believe - Steven Frischling or the Better Business Bureau?

Steven Frischling loves pretending to be a victim as much as he loves attention. His reviews at Yelp.com were so negative and damaging that he concocted a campaign to get as many as he could reviewed by Yelp administrators. He was so aggressive in his attempts that he even earned himself a sympathetic "case study" as a small businessman unfairly targeted by negative reviews (Read Online Reputation Management: A Case Study).

The author of the article went as far as to mention Frischling's terrible reviews in the Better Business Bureau.  He himself commented with outright lies saying he was suing one of the people and won a default court case.

Fortunately someone posted a followup comment that was not deleted:

There may be cases where businesses are unfairly maligned, but there are also lazy, incompetent people who are happy to take money for jobs they never finish. The clients who suffer have a right and duty to voice their complaints against people like Mr. Frischling.

If he spent a fraction of the time on his business as he does spouting off on forums and websites, he would not have the reputation he does.

I do not believe a rating of F by the BBB is false, considering he can't be bothered to respond to the BBB's inquiries either. Does that sound normal to you?

  1. I was one of those that filed a complaint with the better business bureau against Steven Frischling. I was a friend of Steven, a photographer who worked with him, I even loaned him equipment when he started because he was too poor to purchase his own. I hired Fish to photograph our wedding because he is a good photographer and he can be fun. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! A few months after the wedding he stopped communicating, then said he was sick, then stopped communicating, then supposedly hired someone to fix his wedding woes, then stopped communicating, then said he would send photos on dis, sent 1 disc with the reception, nothing from the ceremony, then stopped communicating etc etc etc. I knew Fish had a tendency to stretch the truth, but I did not realize he was a complete liar and a fraud. I even offered to help him edit photos or do office work to help him catch up and get people there photos. In the end I realized that he did not care whether he produced the photos, only that he collected the money. He is a liar, a fraud and a douchebag. I feel bad that I trusted him, I feel bad that I brought him Pizza when his child was sick in the hospital, I feel bad that he has three children who will never have a positive role model in a father-instead just a thief!!
