Did Frischling Throw a Tantrum on Lufthansa Flight?

"I... can't... get... on... TWITTER!"
Remember Monday when "social media consultant" Steven Frischling's Twitter account was suspended for harassing and threatening people who have nothing to do with this blog?

Such a classic Frischling moment. It could not have come at a better time. Twitter suspended his account while he was midair over the Atlantic, about to land at New York City on Lufthansa's new A380, its first to land at JFK. On board were media and industry people invited for the occasion (and at least one idiot blogger).

We've heard through the grapevine that Steven Frischling made quite an impression. You must imagine him turning on his mobile device, about to triumphantly Tweet the moment, only to find his account was suspended. Imagine the moment he realized what had happened, and that he had no ability to (gasp) Tweet!

Unfortunately nobody whipped out their camera phones to record it, but we hear what they would have captured involved a lot of screaming and swearing. A gigantic meltdown of utterly embarrassing proportions for all adults watching it.

Add to this incident the rant he emailed to everyone in the airline industry this week, in which he accused someone else in the industry named Addison of masterminding a conspiracy against him that involved one of his wedding clients and a former girlfriend! He produced no facts that would support his claim that any of them are involved or even know each other, nor did he provide any evidence to explain how he had supposedly "traced" this person who hacked into his wife's email account (let us remind you, again, he's never been married). He also ranted that Addison had fabricated embezzlement charges against him in relation to KLM airlines.

So what do you get out of this week's events except the last person on the planet who will ever get a contract with a major airline. Would you hire this individual to help you build your online brand?

Now it turns out Steven Frischling was not invited on this flight by Lufthansa, but by the geniuses at Jaunted.com. (Although Lufthansa allowed him on the flight.) Jaunted is a subsidiary of Conde Nast Publications. Do you think Conde Nast would like to hear about its professional association with Steven Frischling?

Once again, Steven Friscling is doing more damage to himself than this blog ever could.

  1. Frischling's absurd letter was the final straw. I had to read it twice before I saw he says Addison's email address of mikey99999@gmail is somehow evidence proving he is FishFraud. What? What is he talking about? How is that evidence of anything except he maybe likes Michael Jordan? Ok maybe if Addison's email was fishfraud@gmail.com... but mikey? I don't get it at all yet Frischling claims it's evidence!

The funniest thing is that there were probably people who got the letter that didn't even know he lost his Twitter account until he announced it! He's just dumb as all get out.

  2. "We've heard through the grapevine," "but we hear what they would have captured," "he emailed to everyone in the airline industry this week" EVERYONE?? Source, verifiable?

Yeah, great source research. Ramble, ramble on.....

Yet again -- Yeah, I heard that same info from a very credible source that circulates $3 bills that overheard yet another very credible source say something to a brother of a friend that someone told him that he heard his sister mention that same exact thing. What a small world!

  4. "but we hear what they would have captured involved a lot of screaming and swearing. A gigantic meltdown of utterly embarrassing proportions for all adults watching it."

But can "you cite specific sources and provide links/data/references/etc" to your claims??

    Sound familiar??

Yellow journalism presents little or no legitimate well-researched news.... 'nuff said about this blog.

  5. ^ Don't recall ever claiming we were journalism at all. How much journalism is hosted at blogspot?

If Steven wants to know who is sharing that story, he should try to think back to who was on that flight.

He did try to pitch himself to everyone he could find for contracts though. Utterly inappropriate for this kind of event.

And 7:05 makes me laugh. It IS more appropriate to call his life a tradgety because that at least encapsulates his atrocious grammatical skills as well.

As usual, the devil is in the details. He writes, "...but I understand my images of tradgety (nearly a dozen plane crashes, a terrorist attack, a few riots, crack dens, anthrax scares, fires, homocides, etc) is my business."

A dozen plane crashes? A dozen? Like, with real people? You can't include the balsa plane with the rubber band in the backyard, okay?

A few riots? Which ones? L.A.? I was there. Which riots after that? And I'm not talking the drunk kids after a basketball championship. Overton? Which? And for what agency? UPI again?

Anthrax scares. Oh boy. What did you do, shoot a photo of a couple of cops chatting outside a building from 500 feet? Pretty hazardous duty. Paging James Nachtwey.

As for the "massive profit" from images of "tragety," let's be clear: the only thing massive here is your imagination.

    Delane,
My final thought on this, since I've cited the sources you are to lazy to go and look up.

    Credibility

I'll just do the past few months or so

    A search on the word:
    "Credibility

    Description
A credible source of information makes for quicker and firmer decisions.

A credible person is expert (experienced, qualified, intelligent, skilled) and trustworthy (honest, fair, unselfish, caring). Charisma can increase credibility. Charismatic people, in addition to credible, are extroverted, composed and sociable.

Credibility is context-dependent, and an expert in one situation may be incompetent in another. It is also a cue that is used in selecting the peripheral route to decision-making.

    Credibility-enhancing actions include:

    * Highlighting your own experience and qualifications.
    * Showing you care about the other person and have their best interests at heart.
    * Showing you are similar to them by using their language, body language, dress, etc.
    * Being assertive. Quickly and logically refuting counter-arguments.
    * Leveraging the credibility of others, e.g.
o Highlighting the credibility of your sources of information.
o Getting introduced by a credible person.

    Language that reduces credibility includes:

    * Ums, ers and other, ah, hesitation.
    * Totally and absolutely excessive exaggeration.
    * Kinds of qualifications that sort of lack assertion, I guess.
    * Politeness, sir, that indicates subordination.
    * I know it is silly to say this, but disclaimers do reduce credibility."
