Giant winner Steven Frischling has moved his arraignment to 6/22/2011 at 10:00 AM.
On Wednesday morning he responded to @Lyingwithfish1 (who is not FishFraud by the way, though we do take credit for Lyingwithfish!) and claimed there is a "twist" in the investigation!
Could it be he needed to buy more time to pay for his bail? He's trying to unload some pricey photo equipment on Twitter and Sportsshooter.
And he can't keep his story straight as to why he's selling it - could he need money to flee the country?
But wait a second... he gives another reason for selling the lens in his classified on Sportsshooter (and again demonstrates he does not know the difference between "its" and "it's").
Meanwhile, when is the last time this guy actually had a photography job? How is he changing what he is shooting?
Happy Lying!
Once again, a brilliant catch by FishFraud!
ReplyDeleteBut it sucks that we have to wait one more week.
I'm bummed we've got to wait another week. Can't he just go away already?
ReplyDeleteAlso, maybe I'm reading it wrong (his grammar and spelling are atrocious) but it sounds like his 70-200mm lens is 9 years old. Not that he needs a new lens for his daughter.
oh yes, you're right. That is what he is saying. He's still a freak.
ReplyDeleteReading anything that SF writes is a veritable grammarian's "where's waldo" - exactly how many errors can one find. "payments accepts"?

@martysg @B6AirportGuy Try growing up next to JFK Airport and wearing a #RedSox hat to school daily...in say...Autumn of 1986. Fun fun fun!"
This could explain the brain damage...
and this - he added the part in parentheses:
ReplyDeleteflyingwithfish Flying With Fish
RT @dg28com: How hard can it be? Where, when, who, what and why...(this falls under: Shouldn't reading comprehension be a basic requirement)
we call bullshit on his claim of supporting the Red Sox all his life... (in fact, NOTHING that fool says is to believed until he provides hard evidence) He's constantly trying to prove he is unique and going against the grain of normal society, and plus he thinks this shows some kind of exceptional bravado. He has to mention wearing it in autumn of 1986 no less!
ReplyDeleteagreed. Let me see all the pics of him wearing a Red Sox cap as a kid. What New York City kid suddenly decides to support the Red Sox? This is some delusional vision of himself that does not match actual reality. This guy has deep problems.
ReplyDeleteAs further proof of how delusional he is, he wants $1250 for a lens that is 10 years old (or older), is covered in pink gaffers tape and is probably beat to hell. You can get a brand new, Series II, version with a warranty for $1700.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he could get a job as a used car salesman...
Who would be misguided enough to send Steve money with the expectation of receiving what your purchased?
ReplyDeleteWith the Weiner scandal going on, wouldn't this be a good time to expose the darkroom photos? Who's got those?
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke....read the most current entry about TSA racial profiling.

He cites a recently disclosed internal TSA report...making the reader believe that somehow he has actually seen it.
Here:

is the Sunday newspaper story he swiped it from, probably after reading about it here:

Real original, cutting edge reporting...
I bet Fishdick needs to sell his lenses in order to pay for his attorney. I further bet that Fishdick's attorney is bargaining with the DA's office to get the felony charges reduced to misdemeanors, and that Fishdick will plead guilty to lesser charges next week. At least that's what my Magic 8 Ball says...although a trial would be most awesome.
ReplyDeleteagree with 8:41 that this is the most likely scenario. would also like to figure out some way to harness the power of the collective eye-rolling of fishfraud readers when steve somehow spins it as vindication that he wasn't guilty of anything.
ReplyDeleteeveryone needs to write the investigator and remind them that Steven Frischling is a giant douche who has been ripping people off for YEARS....
ReplyDelete"to get the felony charges reduced to misdemeanors," is this the "twist" and "reversal of fortune?" Can continued investigations defer an arraignment, or is that just another red herring?
ReplyDeletewho knows. They said it was a year-long investigation. It seems more likely that he asked to reschedule it while he finds an attorney, because he still doesn't have one listed. And his "reversal of fortune" comment is typical Fish delusion. I'm sure he thinks KLM and IAG will end up paying him hundreds of thousands!
ReplyDeleteMy humble predictions:
ReplyDeleteFishdick will plea bargain on the condition he pays restitution. He'll then turn around and say that he was unjustly punished by the government and Addison because he's an AHMAYZING blogger and continue to sling his shit as truth. Now he can say that he's been "fighting the man."

@benetwilson @angelialevy There doesn't need to be a hard line between journalist & blogger given how many established journalists blog"
Say what????
He just posted a gallery of photos from the Boston Bruins returning to the airport. Are they on a news website? No. Are they on a wire service website? No. They're in a Facebook gallery.
ReplyDeleteOops....my mistake. It was a gallery from the Boston Logan twitter account that he retweeted. Which is all he ever really does on twitter. I should have paid more attention.
ReplyDeleteGlad he cleared this up...

@@angelialevy @benetwilson The division of journalist & blogger is problematic, but I view it like The Boston Globe vs Parade Magazine"
Have I asked WTF?
keep in mind he claims to be a journalist and not merely a blogger...
ReplyDeleteSo much for a dead blog, eh Steven? Yessiree. Makes me want to tweet tweet tweet.

ReplyDeleteJune 16, 2011 8:04 AM is right, no one should ever buy anything from him. Even if he actually sends the lens and it somehow works, giving Fringleberry any kind of money that could possibly be used on a better lawyer is money NOT well spent for those of us wanting to see him fry.

ReplyDeleteI fail to see how the differences between the Sports Shooter advertisement and the Twitter reply are necessarily an indication of dishonesty.
ReplyDeleteIf one states that they are selling a particular lens because it no longer matches what they are shooting, and in another statement says that they are selling the lens to fund the purchase of a different lens this could be absolutely true if the lens that they are purchasing is a better fit for their current work than the one they are selling.
The Fish has been caught in a multitude of lies and there is abundant and damning evidence of his misdeeds, but this particular "contradiction" is not necessarily yet another smoking gun.
Not to worry, though. The Fish has left an entire ARMORY full of "smoking guns."
yes, but because it's him it's suspicious. Why didn't he reply on Twitter and say, "Because I don't use it anymore" or something. Instead he said he had a very specific other story - that he was funding a replacement for a 70-200/2.8 that was nine years old.
ReplyDeleteEither way it's obvious why he's selling these lenses.
We deleted the comments about Loundy. If you have some evidence that he's also a fraud or liar or "in bed" with Frischling, then we can revisit the subject.
ReplyDeleteI took "replacement" as meaning he's getting another 70-200, which is a fundamentally different story than "changing" a kit - unless the 70-200 range replacement he's looking for is lighter and smaller to make a kit that is lighter and smaller. It's a very small detail but it goes to the point that his stories seem to change with each telling. And yes, the second point why he's selling these lenses. There are a lot of "kits" you can make (one single lens, lighter, faster, etc), but the 70-200 range (tele) and the 24-35 (wide) are the two most basic lenses that almost any journalist would keep.
ReplyDeleteHis ad on SS said he's using his 85/1.8 again and selling his 85/1.2 because of "space and weight constraints in how I travel with gear." The 1.8 weighs 15 oz., while the 1.2 weighs 2.25 lb. Our Grand Poobah of Packing is stumped by that extra pound?
ReplyDelete"Either way it's obvious why he's selling these lenses."...
ReplyDeleteI assume you mean so that he can pay legal fees? That doesn't make sense. As it was pointed out before, Frischling had his lenses listed on Sports Shooter weeks before he was arrested.
^It's new that he's taken to Twitter to talk about them. So it would seem he is under pressure to unload them. Plus, how do we know he didn't know the arrest was coming? Maybe the cops had called him in for more questioning.
ReplyDeleteWe see what you are saying, because normal people deserve the benefit of the doubt. Frischling no longer does.
He has other things on his "to do" list next week.
ReplyDelete@skyvan I need to hot the DMV next week and I am NOT looking forward to it. AAA in CT does license renewal, but no offices near me.
what is "hot the DMV"? Frischling to English translation, anyone?
ReplyDeleteit means he plans on writing them a bad check.

How can you be a consultant when you don't get paid?
Her kicker is hilarious though -
“The upside,” Frischling said, “is it gives you your own forum to say, ‘I screwed up.’”
If anyone wants to clue her in: kyamanouchi@ajc.com

ReplyDeleteHis latest (long) twitter thread about Taiwan authorities banning defibrulators on airplanes. Claims that the ICAO has been calling him to clarify their statements:

From his blog sponsored by the great Randy...

All air travel/social media experts do this, honest!
More original reporting from Fishbull....
ReplyDeleteIn his boardingarea blog he writes about that video about stranded photogs and their overnight airport hijinks.
Fishfool "writes" - " When shown Ayala and Chen’s video, Betty J. Culbreath, a member of DFW’s Board of Directors stated, 'It’s not funny. It’s not going to happen again as far as I’m concerned. It should not have happened because it gives the perception the airport is sitting out there unguarded and that’s why I was concerned, and am still concerned.' ”
Now here is the story from The Guardian - "It’s not funny. It’s not going to happen again as far as I’m concerned,' DFW board member Betty Culbreath told CBS.
'It should not have happened because it gives the perception the airport is sitting out there unguarded and that’s why I was concerned, and am still concerned.'
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2004698/Airport-chiefs-fail-funny-passengers-claim-stranded-film-pranks-building.html#ixzz1Pm8VIpKq
Notice how The Guardian attributes the same quote to CBS while Fishkill uses no attribution to mislead his readers into the false impression that he actually got the quote firsthand. Isn't that plagiarism or is this a legit blogging practice in which case why does Fishfood insist he is a journalist?
While do MSM outlets go to this guy as a source if his own "reporting" is suspect?

Starting tomorrow I take over the #Facebook content of a major #travel company for two weeks ... Watch Out! Bwahahahaha!!!!! #smtravel
Wonder if this "major travel company" knows he's being arraigned tomorrow???
Heard from Kelly Y. Not much - just a thanks for the note. Wouldn't making up 17 interviews and not telling anyone pretty much exempt you from being a reliable source of anything?
ReplyDeleteWe've also heard back and are pressing them to excise him from the article as a source. If not, expect a blog posted devoted to "Atlanta-Journal Constitution = FAIL"
ReplyDeleteFrom his latest FB:

Want to bet that his is Boingo?
I can't find contact info for Boingo. Anyone know how to get in touch with their PR people?
ReplyDeleteBoingo's PR person is Baochi Nguyen (the one who thinks Fishdick is the "penultimate" travel expert or some such shit).
ReplyDeletehttp://www.boingo.com/blog/?page_id=4
Boingo is down 15% since May. I'm sure Fishdick's FB gig will make the stock turn right around. :-P Try contacting Boingo Investor Relations here:

Ok friends, today is the big day! Man I'm hoping to see a trial date. Please please.
ReplyDeleteI don't see any activity on the Facebook page for Boingo. Maybe he's not going to 'take over the content' until after his day in court. Terrible when pesky arraignments get in the way of quality social media work.
ReplyDeletebwahahahahaha bwahahahahaha :0)
ReplyDeleteBoingo's not a travel company, they offer overpriced wifi at airports. Maybe the travel company who gets Fishdick's expertise for 2 weeks is a car rental agency?
ReplyDeleteIt's all pie in the sky. Typical fishdick spin and bullshit, once again making out something that resides only in his fantasy.
ReplyDeleteHis arraignment on the other hand is quite real.
Mindless re-tweet volume seems to have fallen dramatically on Twitter with no Fish activity in past couple of hours.
