National Car Rental = WIN!

National Car Rental is awesome and we hope everyone chooses them for their next trip! Frischling will not be working for them after all, thanks entirely to the readers of this blog.

We received the following email today from someone named Megan:

Fish Fraud,

Thank you again for bringing the news to our attention. We have ended our relationship with Mr. Frischling.

We also noticed that you posted to our Facebook wall – if you would like to contact us directly, we’d be more than happy to answer any additional questions.

Thanks again,
360i on behalf of National Car Rental

Interestingly, we did not contact them directly yet but were planning on doing it today. This was all the work of FishFraud fans!

  1. He screwed with photographers, they (finally) bit back. He screwed with brides, they bit back. He screwed with social media, it's beginning to bite back.

Steven Frischling, it is long past time for you to go quietly into the dark.

  3. Oh no...another injury...the first we're hearing of this, no?

"...Last summer I traveled with my ankle in a brace, with a cane, after having a cast removed for a broken ankle. I passed through an AIT scanner, but couldn’t bring the cane through the scanner with me. I was quite unsteady and it resulted in a blurry image, resulting in a pat down."

  4. When has Fish ever not been injured?

  5. I can't remember a reference to a broken ankle - funny he mentions this a year later. Let's see, this would have interfered with snowboarding, any kind of assignment involving travel, mobility with cameras over his shoulder - surely something he would have been talking about.

  6. Actually he wrote about it here - http://www.sportsshooter.com/message_display.html?tid=35976

    on 04.23.10

"...First I 'radically' dislocated my ankle (something just doesn't sound as fun as you'd think). 10 days later I broke my ankle (because healing from the dislocation just wasn't enouh)... about 10 days after that I managed to dislocate it again while in the cast (because breaking it, following the dislocation just wasn't entertaining enough for the kids). 7. ^11:04, thank you. Fishdick posted the following saga about his ankle on SS:

4/4/10: "Must be the pain meds I'm on after dislocating my ankle last week."

4/23/10: "First I 'radically' dislocated my ankle (something just doesn't sound as fun as you'd think). 10 days later I broke my ankle (because healing from the dislocation just wasn't enouh)... about 10 days after that I managed to dislocate it again while in the cast (because breaking it, following the dislocation just wasn't entertaining enough for the kids)."

He even provides a link to a photo of something (site is blocked at my office so apologies if link is bad):

    http://tweetphoto.com/19625056

8/17/10: "Presently I have a completely torn ligament on the anterior of my right ankle and a nearly completely torn ligament on the interior of the same ankle."

  8. Funny how he didn't mention the injury forcing a pat down when, on Nov. 18, 2010, he wrote the mother of all invented pat down stories here:

  9. Wow. I wonder how much money he just lost... ?

FishFraud, I hope you keep guarding your identity very closely. At this point you should fear for your safety. Fish must be flipping out right now and ready to kill you. I'm serious.

  10. This guy's favorite river is denial...

    "Flying With Fish
flyingwithfish @flyddw Had court. Wasn't arraigned. Prosecutor believes it's a civil case, charges will be dropped. @aschonland is being investigated.

  11. from his blog:

"(*Due to circumstances beyond my control, my project with National Car Rental has been delayed*)"

    hahahahahaha! what a dumbass!

Shame he is probably right about the court case. The legal system is a joke. I am not surprised at all about the delays and reduced and/or dropped charges.

  12. but yesterday it was this...

    flyingwithfish Flying With Fish
@mikebrice What happened is nothing, no plea, no courtroom. The person who filed the complaint is being investigated for criminal conduct.

so court? no court? that fish, he's an enigma wrapped in a riddle....

  13. ^ Don't believe any spin he puts on anything. Circumstances beyond his control? Bullshit. He only has himself to blame. Delayed? Bullshit. Let's see if National actually has him "take over" their FB. We don't know what happened in court. We may find out, but not from him.

  14. " I wonder if they known what they're in for ... bwahahahahaha bwahahahahaha :0)"

    They do now...bwahahahahahahah

    or is it woo hoo?'

  15. 12:49. If the prosecutor thought it was a civil case (larceny? forgery? hello?), criminal charges would never have been filed in the first place. According to the 6/7/11 "The Day" article Frischling pretty much admitted his guilt. A more likely scenario is that DA's office and Frischling's attorney are trying to work out a plea bargain. A felony conviction would not be good for Frischling:

  16. So Frischling might be trying to convince National that all those emails are just a conspiracy against him and that his resume is real. But if he's going to do that, he may actually have to start proving things, and he can't. So what's he going to do?

  17. Wow. Those of you who are not photographers or people who don't read the SportsShooter message board, you probably won't get the full blast of awesomeness that involves doing a search for Steven Frischling on the SS message board and seeing his icon reduced to a generic profile/non-entity status.

How about explaining to Frischling that making up interviews then peddling them to a national media is probably not a good idea.
